1. Health & Congenital Guarantee
• 72-Hour Trial: The Buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed vet within 72 hours of possession. A copy of the bill of health must be sent to the Breeder within this window, or the guarantee is void.
• 12-Month Coverage: This puppy is guaranteed for 12 months from birth against life-threatening congenital defects. Parasites and non-life-threatening traits (size, weight, coat) are excluded.
• Claims & Diagnosis: For any health claim, the Breeder must be notified before any action is taken. If the dog passes away unexpectedly prior to 1 year of age, the Buyer must provide an autopsy report from a licensed vet confirming the cause of death was congenital. Any claims on this warranty must be accompanied by licensed veterinary findings and the return of said puppy to breeder for care. The breeder is not responsible for any of the purchasers veterinary bills or transportation costs. All the terms of this contract must be met or will become null and void.
• Dysplasia: Suspected crippling dysplasia requires OFA prelims or PennHip documentation. Breeder reserves the right to a second opinion at their expense.
• Resolution: Proven congenital defects result in a replacement puppy of equal value from a future litter. No refunds; all sales are final.
2. Ownership & Care Requirements
• No Breeding Rights: This dog is sold with Limited Registration. Breeding this dog without permission results in a $3,000 fine payable to Sarah Hamilton.
• Spay/Neuter: Must be performed after 18 months of age minimum. The ideal time frame is 18- 24+ months. Doing so earlier than 12 months voids the health guarantee.
• Care Standards: Buyer must provide a safe environment, proper diet, and grooming. This contract is void if the dog is chained, neglected, if dog has not had routine vet care, or subjected to extreme exercise.
3. Right of Recovery & Transfer
• Lifetime Return: This dog must never be sold to a pet shop, wholesaler, or third party.
• First Right of Refusal: If the Buyer can no longer keep the dog, the puppy must be returned to breeder (Sarah Hamilton). No reimbursement given.
4. Legal Acknowledgement
Failure to comply with these terms constitutes a breach of contract, giving the Breeder the legal right to reclaim the dog and AKC papers without fee. This contract is governed by the laws of Kentucky.
